Fun at the CNE

Published by Dysantic under Daily Shots

Today Molly and I went down to watch the air show and spent the rest of the afternoon at the CNE. My Dad was working at the air show again this year and scored us some free tickets. The air show was awesome, and Dad got us into the “invited guests” section which had an open bar. Sweet! Four Steam Whistles later, we met up with the rest of the crew, and wandered around the CNE. I had a great time, even if I was out of my mind, and as usual, the CNE had some great sights to be seen.

Shit be goin’ down

Simon let us know that part of Dufferin St. was blocked off when he came in this morning. Sure enough, it was, but there were a BUNCH of cop cars, three ambulances, and a City-TV crew… because, you know, they’re everywhere.

It didn’t take long for Simon to find out what happened:

A Toronto police officer is being treated by paramedics after a crash between two on-duty motorcycle cops on Friday morning.

The officers had been driving their bikes along Dufferin Street near King Street when one slipped on streetcar tracks while trying to change lanes.

He knocked down the motorcycle of the other officer as he fell.

One suffered a broken collarbone and various other injuries, but is said to be breathing. He is being treated by emergency workers at the scene, while the other is uninjured.

The crash occurred at about 9:10 a.m., and has slowed rush hour traffic in the area. It had been raining for much of the morning and the streets were slippery at the time of the crash.

Both officers are members of traffic services division.

The steak kicked my ass

Published by Dysantic under Daily Shots

Note to self: 944g of steak is a wee bit too much. I feel bad for not being able to eat it all, but at the same time, what the hell was I thinking, trying to eat almost a kilogram of cow?! Ugh.

one-liners

One liners…

Published by Dysantic under Hilarity

Some of these are old, but they’re still good:

Thoughts From a Wandering Mind

  • I planted some bird seed. A bird came up. Now I don’t know what to feed it.
  • I had amnesia once… or twice.
  • Protons have mass? I didn’t even know they were Catholic.
  • All I ask is a chance to prove that money can’t make me happy.
  • If the world were a logical place, men would be the ones who ride side saddle.
  • What is a “free” gift? Aren’t all gifts free?
  • Someone told me I was gullible and I believed them.
  • Teach a child to be polite and courteous and, when he grows up, he’ll never be able to merge his car onto the freeway.
  • Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone.
  • One nice thing about egotists: they don’t talk about other people.
  • My weight is perfect for my height… which varies.
  • I used to be indecisive. Now I’m not sure.
  • The high cost of living hasn’t affected its popularity.
  • How can there be self-help “groups”?
  • If swimming is so good for your figure, how do you explain whales?
  • Show me a man with both feet firmly on the ground, and I’ll show you a man who can’t get his pants off.
  • Is it just me or do buffalo wings really taste like chicken?

Nyuk nyuk nyuk.
