Senator pwns himself…

Published by Dysantic at 5:35 pm under Hilarity

One of my favourite things in the world is when someone says something so utterly stupid, and realises it the moment it leaves their lips. Hell, I do that once in a while too, so I can appreciate the humour in it.

Anyway, here is a clip from Bill Maher’s “Religulous” where Senator of Arkansas Mark Pryor is put on the spot as to what his religious views are. I won’t spoil it for you, so check it out:

Wow. That was awesome. Too bad Pryor is a Democrat though… I prefer laughing at Republicans.   ;-)

Thanks to Jared for sending this my way. Frikkin’ hilarious.

    Indeed.

I love how the religious extremists have an answer for everything. Carbon dating…? Anything past 6,000 years old, and that is just God testing our faith. Dinosaurs and man living with one another…? Oh man… how the hell are “creationism” and “intelligent design” seen as a viable theories…!? I’d believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster should creationism take hold in popular belief, as they have the same evidence behind them!

Oh, and I just LOVE this quote from Wikipedia:

“Belief in creationism is inversely correlated to education; of those with post-graduate degrees, 74% believe in evolution.”

    :-D

Hey now, that really isn’t fair, the senator made a very valid point, backed up by both reason and evidence.

It might have been the only point he made during the entire interview, why do you have to take shots at him for it?

One thing this does prove is that republicans don’t have a monopoly on stupidity, but then they never have — Even this right wing love affair with the religious right is a fairly recent invention.
