Simon let us know that part of Dufferin St. was blocked off when he came in this morning. Sure enough, it was, but there were a BUNCH of cop cars, three ambulances, and a City-TV crew… because, you know, they’re everywhere.

It didn’t take long for Simon to find out what happened:
A Toronto police officer is being treated by paramedics after a crash between two on-duty motorcycle cops on Friday morning.
The officers had been driving their bikes along Dufferin Street near King Street when one slipped on streetcar tracks while trying to change lanes.
He knocked down the motorcycle of the other officer as he fell.
One suffered a broken collarbone and various other injuries, but is said to be breathing. He is being treated by emergency workers at the scene, while the other is uninjured.
The crash occurred at about 9:10 a.m., and has slowed rush hour traffic in the area. It had been raining for much of the morning and the streets were slippery at the time of the crash.
Both officers are members of traffic services division.
