Pwoor widdle wabbit…

Doodles
pwoor-widdle-wabbit

So, I’d been wondering for the last little bit: What sort of stuff would I draw if I wasn’t quite sober?

Well, turns out my morbid sense of humour took control this time, that’s for sure.

What started out as an innocent rabbit head morphed into the… uh… interesting image above. I wonder what other things the slightly-not-sober Evan may draw in the future?

20090731 – The Friday Five

The Friday Five

1. How often do you clean your home?

Not as often as we should, but generally before we plan to have people come over… doesn’t everyone? A common phrase spoken in our apartment when people come over is “please excuse the mess”. The next most common phrase spoken in our apartment when people come over is “would you like a beer?”, so being good hosts makes up for the mess. Or, we’re just trying to get you drunk so you don’t notice. Either and or.   :-)

2. What domestic chore do you hate?

Dusting. I can’t seem to get the hang of it. All I do is spread it elsewhere. With two cats, I notice the odd furball in the corner, which isn’t too much of an issue, but when it starts to accumulate on my desk, dust mixed with cat fur is irritating to clean.

3. What domestic chore do you enjoy?

Surprisingly, doing laundry. Not so much while living in an apartment, but in the various houses I’ve lived that have laundry machines, I would do laundry almost three times a week. Clean clothes all the time… lovely. Currently, laundry just piles up in the hamper until I realise I need clean underwear and/or socks. By that point, it takes forever to get it done, and isn’t as much fun.

4. Do you own a washing machine or go to the laundromat?

My Father’s house has laundry machines, but we generally use the laundry machines down in the laundry room of our apartment building. I’m not a big fan of using laundry machines that other people use, but it’s a hell of a lot better than going down to a laundromat to get it done. Those places just seem dirty to me… but if you have nothing else…

5. Do you iron underpants and/or bed sheets?

…no. That’s kinda odd. I’ll iron my collared shirts and anything else that is supposed to look fancy, but that’s about it.

Simon’s Cat…

Captivating Clips
simons-cat

I’ve been a fan of the “Simon’s Cat” cartoons since I saw “Cat-man-do“. As a cat person, I love how these cartoons totally capture the antics of a cat, and this latest one, entitled “Fly Guy” is hilarious. Check it out:

Check out the rest of the cartoons by Simon Tofield at his YouTube page.

Thanks to Mike F. for sending this my way!

Municipal strike is over…

Doodles

Yay! The strike is over!!

…well, not just yet. The unions have to vote on the deals and agree to them, and then the city also has to vote on the deals and agree to them… and THEN the strike will be over. Until then, the people of the city have to wait just a wee bit longer. But, hey… this is progress, right?

One of the best weddings…

Captivating Clips
one-of-the-best-weddings

Molly sent this to me earlier this morning (obviously a hint for something), and I think I’ve watched it four times already. At the time of this posting, the video has been watched about 10.3 million times (although, I had to link to another copy as the original has embedding disabled) and it was only posted on July 19th!

Basically, this is one of the best ideas for a wedding that I have ever seen. The groom and his boys, and the bride and her girls, dance down the aisle of the Church to the alter, all to the music of “Forever” by Chris Brown, and it is just plain awesome. They’re all having a blast doing it, and their friends and family are equally having as much fun watching it. Even the Pastor was grooving a bit. Check it out:

Some of the comments posted are quite upsetting, as it appears there are some that frown upon having a good time in a Church. Personally, as I am agnostic, I don’t see what the issue is. This is a celebration of the love shared between the bride and the groom, a celebration of their union, and a celebration of the friends and family they chose to invite. What happened during their special day is their business, yet they chose the share it with the world. If some people only have negative things to say, then I kindly ask that they shut the hell up and continue to live in the depression that is their lives. Everyone has the right to celebrate their wedding as they choose, and if the Church had any reservations with the way they planned to do it, then they had the opportunity to voice their concern. As it happened, the wedding went ahead, so obviously the Church didn’t have an issue with it, so no one else should either. Get with the NOW, you bigots!

Anyway, Jill and Kevin, all the best to you and your future together. From what we’ve seen in the video, you’re off to a GREAT start!  :-)
