Raptors vs purple dudes

Molly scored some free tickets from work, so we came here to the ACC to watch the Raptors play against the Kings… or as I referred to them, the “purple dudes”. Shortly after this video, people went bananas for free t-shirts. Crazy.

Future basement?

This was the basement of a house near our new house that had a layout we really liked. The closets at the end of the recreation area aren’t needed, but the closet next to the window is desired. They had a little walkway underneath the stairs that we won’t have, and the space between the stairs and the bathroom will be used for the bathroom so the shower doesn’t have to be too far left of the sink.

Messy basement – Part three

Over the course of the past weekend, and even with this past Monday as a vacation day, huge strides have been made during our battle with the basement. So much so, that we expect to be done quite soon! This video was taken last night, Monday, Jan 18th, 2010. Yesterday alone we ended up taking 520kg (1146lbs) to the dump, one full van load to Goodwill, and another full van load to our storage locker. The end is in sight!!

Messy basement – Part two

It took three more days of sorting and boxing, but the basement is almost empty now. This video was recorded Tuesday, Jan 12th, 2010. On Monday we took 455kg of stuff to the dump, and last night we took 475kg more. There’s some other crap remaining around the house, but for the most part, it’s coming along swimmingly.

Messy basement – Part one

After an initial clean on the messy basement on Friday, Jan 8th, 2010, I recorded a quick video for Molly to show her my progress. As you can see, at this point, there was a LOT to do.

Coconut going bonkers…

Coconut loves his catnip. Pashmina will just sit there and eat it, and it doesn’t seem to affect her, but Coconut goes bonkers. Here we have the little furball just wigging out. Hilarious.

It shouldn’t be that easy…

If we can rip out a fundamental part of a closet that easily, then there is something wrong. GET THAT OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!

Kicking apart some walls…

To save some cash in the upcoming renovations, Molly, my Mom, a bunch of friends, and I got together and destroyed the upstairs. I always believed that the guys Dad had hired to do the renovations a decade ago did a poor job, and the demolition proved it. Drywall that is mounted correctly shouldn’t be this easy to rip down. Case and point: when my Mom kicks part of the wall and it opens like a barn door.
