After an initial clean on the messy basement on Friday, Jan 8th, 2010, I recorded a quick video for Molly to show her my progress. As you can see, at this point, there was a LOT to do.

Coconut loves his catnip. Pashmina will just sit there and eat it, and it doesn’t seem to affect her, but Coconut goes bonkers. Here we have the little furball just wigging out. Hilarious.

If we can rip out a fundamental part of a closet that easily, then there is something wrong. GET THAT OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!

To save some cash in the upcoming renovations, Molly, my Mom, a bunch of friends, and I got together and destroyed the upstairs. I always believed that the guys Dad had hired to do the renovations a decade ago did a poor job, and the demolition proved it. Drywall that is mounted correctly shouldn’t be this easy to rip down. Case and point: when my Mom kicks part of the wall and it opens like a barn door.

Molly’s Mom got a present for our cats: a stuffed fish on the end of a fishing rod. The result? Our cats went NUTS trying to get this thing, and when Coconut finally succeeded, he wouldn’t let go. I ended up bending the rod trying to free the fish, but I’ll find something to replace it with. Thanks Carol!

Driving up to Don Mills, the Gardiner was empty. Only a few cars going east with us, but westbound was completely barren. Listening to 680 news later on, turns out there is some construction going on until noon.

At the Eaton Centre for Nuit Blanche, a giant silver bunny hovers… watching…

Had to go to the office to fix something at 1am, and decided it wasn’t worth the effort to get home and then come back in the morning. However, I couldn’t fall asleep. Guess I miss my bed.
